Henry A. Hovelsrud

Henry was born March 18, 1925, to Albert and Ragnild Hovelson Hovelsrud, at home on the farm. He grew up and attended rural country school until he began working with the family full time. In 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. After his honorable discharge, he returned to the area and began working in Hawley. In 1968, Henry married Evaughn McDougall in Hitterdal, MN. Together they made their home in Hawley and Henry continued driving truck, hauling milk, grain and cattle. He took pride in his work and enjoyed taking care of his vehicles. Henry was a long time member of Hegland Lutheran Church, and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He will be missed.Henry is survived by his wife, Evaughn of Hawley; and brother, Bennie Hovelsrud of Barnesville, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents.
