Ilah L. Wibe

July 2, 1926 — March 21, 2005

Ilah Wibe of Moorhead, MN passed away at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, in Fargo, after a short battle with cancer on March 21, 2005.Ilah Lucille Wibe was born to Anton and Nora Anderson Wibe on July 2, 1926 in the Rollag area. She was baptized at Rollag Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1941 at Highland Grove Church. She attended country school in Clay and Becker County. She later moved with her family to the Hitterdal area, graduating from Hitterdal High School in 1943. She received her RN degree at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, ND and Certificate in Public Health Nursing from the University of Minnesota. She worked in Public Health nursing in western North Dakota, Alaska and the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota. She worked in various hospitals in Helena, MT, Ada, MN, Bismarck, ND and St. Luke's in Fargo, ND. She retired in 1986 from the VA Hospital in Fargo. She was currently a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. Ilah is survived by her brother Arvo Beverly, Hitterdal, MN: sister in law Ruth Wibe Hollis Heimark, Moorhead; eight nieces and nephews, eighteen great nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews, her two aunts, Orpha Anderson of Pelican Rapids, MN and Ethel Turner of Fair Oaks, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Orris. Ilah enjoyed gardening, family geneology, quilting and traveling. Ilah will always be remembered by her family for her independence.
