James D. Alm

James Alm, 55, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.James Alm was born September 9, 1948 at Hawley, Minnesota to Albert and Florence McDonald Alm. He grew up and graduated from Hawley High School, then graduated from Detroit Lakes Technical College in Agronomy. He was a police officer in Crookston, Minnesota and also worked in agriculture at the same time. He later managed Midwest Patrol Security Company, then sold real estate in Minnesota. James married Darlene Rehder on February 13, 1983 in Clay County, Minnesota. They recently resided in Hawley, Minnesota.He is survived by his wife, Darlene Alm, Hawley, MN; one daughter, Kari Chad Conner, Isle, MN; three step-daughters, Dawn Christiansen, Glyndon, MN, Gail Scott Fields, Cannon Falls, MN, and Dana Tom Anderson, New Hope, MN; one step-son, Larry Michelle Christiansen, Glyndon, MN; his mother, Florence Alm, Hawley, MN; one brother, Lloyd Janice Alm, Hawley, MN; one sister, Angie Harold Sandvik, Albertville, MN; six grandchildren.
