James “Jim” Anstadt passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2026 at his son's home in Lakeville, MN.

James LeRoy Anstadt was born October 15, 1954, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, ND, and was raised in Glyndon, MN, where he graduated from high school. He then attended Detroit Lakes Technical College for construction and building, followed by various construction jobs. In 1979 he began his career at the Anheuser-Busch Malt House where he worked his way up to General Manager of the Malt Plant and Elevators and retired in 2009 after 30 years.

Jim married Debbie Rutten (Gebeke) in 1998. Together they moved to Lake Six by Frazee, MN, to their lake home.

Jim’s greatest joy was family and all the chaos and fun that goes with it. Pontoon rides, lake life, grilling, bonfires and cold beer with friends was his happy place. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Anstadt; his children, Alissa (Brian) Stavenger, Jacob (Mary) Anstadt, Lindsey (Tom) Fromm, Lacey Gebeke (Garret Klein); grandchildren, Marcus Stavenger, Mallory Stavenger, Lucy Anstadt, Noah Anstadt, Greta Anstadt, Emma Fromm, Gabby Fromm and Riggs Klein; brothers, Michael Anstadt, David (Lynne) Anstadt, Thomas Anstadt; sister, Melissa (Jason) Amdahl; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice “Bud” and Beverly Anstadt; and brother, Jeff Anstadt.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
