James Newton “Jim” Gill

James “Jim” Newton Gill, 87, of Felton, MN, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Serenity Assisted Living, Memory Care, Dilworth, MN.

Jim was born on October 23, 1934, to Wayne and Willa Mae (Newton) Gill in Wheatland, ND. He grew up in Felton, MN, where he attended and graduated from Felton High School. He served the United States Military in the Army. While stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, he was united in marriage to Helen Stoddart on November 5, 1955. Together, they moved to Felton, MN, where they lived on the family farm and raised their three children.

Jim was active in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Felton serving as a board member and a deacon. He was talented in restoring farm toys after his retirement. His story was published in the Toy Farmer Magazine for his workmanship in custom farm toys. Above all, he loved his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his children, Bob (Linda) Gill and Kathryn (Dan) Sebby; grandchildren, Matthew (Cherry) Gill, Katie (Levi) Pender, Ashley (Matthew) Termansen, Garrett Sebby, Jennifer (Jordan) Wear, and Michael Gill; great-grandchildren, Marley and Jenner Pender, Oliver Termansen, Celeste, Bentley, and Hendrix Wear; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen; son, Donald Gill; parents, Wayne and Willa Mae; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Clair Askelson.

A private family graveside service will be held.
