Janice Ann (Miller) Larson, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, left this world too soon on September 6, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on February 22, 1948, in Harvey, ND to Richard and Theresia Miller. Janice was the oldest of three daughters. She attended grade school in Harvey, ND and attended St. Catherine’s Sisters of the Presentation in Valley City before moving to Fargo in 1971. There she met the love of her life, Jon, on New Year’s Eve. They married on August 12, 1972, and raised two beautiful daughters in Fargo, ND.

Janice was a childcare provider for 35 years and filled the lives of many children with love and compassion. Later, she worked at Sam’s Club for twenty years until her retirement in 2018. Being a door greeter at Sam’s Club was the most rewarding job because she loved interacting and brightening anyone’s day! She had a passion for people, always had a smile on her face and just loved to hear about how your day was going. After retirement, she enjoyed taking care of her husband, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Janice lived a selfless life of compassion, love, and joy for everyone around her. She loved a good conversation and thoroughly enjoyed going to the casino and finding a deal at a rummage sale. She loved going on drives with her husband, taking numerous trips to State Parks like Lake George and Itasca, and taking in nature.

Janice is survived by her beloved husband, Jon, daughters Cherie (Monte Hoffman) Stegman, and Amy (Devin) Mertes; sisters Joyce Machotka and Ellie (Rick) Schneibel.

Grandchildren Ciara (Jack) Rich, Casadi (Lance Rognlin) Stegman, Gavin Larson, Chloe Stegman, Theodore Mertes and Jonathan Mertes; Great-Grandchildren Hazel, Avery, Etta and Annie.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and many loved ones.

A funeral service with Livestream will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 12 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
