Jay Alden Allrich

Jay Alden Allrich, 71, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Jay was born on June 28, 1951, to Clifford and Gloria (Burke) Allrich, in Crookston, MN. He attended and graduated from Crookston High School in 1969 before attending Moorhead Technical College, graduating with a certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Repair.

Jay began working at an appliance store in Lisbon, ND, before beginning his career with Branick Industries in Fargo, ND, for nearly 25 years. He was united in marriage to Irene Mitchell on July 5, 1974, in Dilworth, MN. He finished his career in manufacturing management, retiring in 2013 due to health.

Jay was an avid fisherman. He loved traveling to fish, especially Canada, and would even take fly in fishing trips. He enjoyed smoking bacon, making it himself, and sharing with those he loved. He had fun by having friendly mowing competitions with his neighbor, seeing who could mow their yard the fastest. He also enjoyed going to Duluth and watching the ships come and go. Above all though, his family was front and center in his life. He would do anything for his family, especially his kids and grandkids, with words of encouragement and was their biggest fan at all their events.

Jay is survived by his loving wife, Irene; children, Cassandra Schaffer and TamiLynn (Joe) Fortier; grandchildren, Shelby, Kenna, Jay, Morgan, and Stella; siblings, Debbie (Bruce) Kildal and Todd (Tracy) Allrich; his beloved fur baby, Bandit; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his infant son; parents, Clifford and Gloria; and best friend, Pat Fortier.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
