Jay D. Bohnenblust, 68, Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, November 11, 2010, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.Jay David Bohnenblust was born on January 17, 1942, in Fargo, ND, to Fredrick Roy and Doris Maude Steedsman Bohnenblust. He graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1960, where he was a photographer for the school yearbook. He entered the Air Force and served most of his tour of duty at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK, surviving the Easter earthquake of 1964 while he was there. On discharge, he returned to Fargo and joined the Air National Guard at Hector Field and was briefly employed by St. Luke's Hospital. He worked for FM Ambulance and served as it's manager for twelve years. He then became employed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, first as brakeman, then conductor, then an engineer while still enjoying taking photographs. He spent several years actively involved with Bonanzaville, as a member of the Board of Directors, Cass County Historical Society and Volunteer in charge of the Eagles Air Museum.Jay is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Anne "Betsy" Bohnenblust Scott Nelson, Fargo, ND, and Susan Holly Steve Luce, Damascus, Maryland; one brother, Jerry Barbara Bohnenblust, Germantown, MD; five grandchildren, Elsbeth Amelia, Charli Mae, Shae Stewart, and Rowan Scott Nelson, and Jacob Tanner Luce. He was preceded in death by his parents.
