Jerome "Jerry" A. Bruhn, 74, of Moorhead, MN, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, under the care of family and Sanford Hospice. Jerry was born December 4, 1951, in Perham, MN, to Claudius and Jane (Hein) Bruhn. He grew up in Vergas and graduated from Frazee High School. Following high school, Jerry continued his education at Minnesota State University Moorhead where he earned his degree in Biology. On October 8, 1983, he married Pamela Kowitz in Perham, MN. Together they settled in Moorhead in 1985. They welcomed their son, Benjamin, in 1987. Over the years, Jerry worked for Master Construction and enjoyed many different aspects of the profession until retiring in 2017.

In retirement Jerry kept busy hunting, fishing, gardening and anything he could do with family. His two granddaughters brought him immense joy. Jerry became a Master gardener and volunteered his gardening talents around the community. He also enjoyed canning, making wine, and quality time at the lake home on Big Pine. In recent years, he enjoyed a few memorable trips including the Lake Superior Circle, and a train ride to Banff, Canada, and one of his favorites was an Alaskan cruise with his family. He had a way of keeping a positive attitude and will be remembered for his sense of humor and the love he had for his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pam; son, Ben (Ashley) Bruhn; grandchildren, Isla and Brielle Bruhn; brothers, Joe (Julie) Bruhn, Jamie Bruhn; sister, Claudia (Robbie) Schmid; mother-in-law, Doris Kowitz; brothers-in-law, David Kowitz and Daryl (Kathy) Kowitz; sister-in-law, Diane Bruhn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudius and Jane Bruhn; brother, Steve Bruhn; nephew, Ryan Bruhn; father-in-law, Harvey Kowitz; and sister-in-law, Kathy Kowitz.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23, from 9:30 - 11:00 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Vergas City Cemetery, Vergas, MN, at a later date.
