Jesse Willard Larson Jr.

Jesse Willard Larson, Jr., 79, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Farmstead Care in Moorhead.

Jesse was born on May 12, 1943, to Jesse, Sr., and Signe (Rosell) Larson in Fargo, ND. He grew up on the family farm south of Moorhead, attending and graduating from Moorhead High School. While in high school, he enjoyed athletics, especially track, and came to hold a few records for short distance running. After high school, he served his country with the United States National Guard. After his time with the military, he came back to the family farm. He met Roxanne Hamberg and they were united in marriage on June 5, 1965, together they raised five children and many foster children. He continued to farm until 1991. While farming, he began working with Johnson Brothers, where he worked for 23 years as a delivery and warehouse worker until his retirement in 2006.

Jesse enjoyed long car rides looking at his own fields and the fields nearby. He also enjoyed playing community softball with his friends. He was happiest when with his family and friends and he loved spending most of his time with his grandsons.

Jesse is survived by his children, Kim Larson, Angela Larson, Tyler Larson, Josh (Lucy Knutson) Larson, and Brittany (Eric) Roeser; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Isaac, Jesse, Colby, Sam, and Henry; great-grandchild, Michael, brother, Robert (Leslie) Larson; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Roxanne; and parents, Jesse and Signe.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service with livestream at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 21, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN, following the service.
