Joan Caroline Rich

May 12, 1932 – March 2, 2021

Joan C. Rich, 88, of Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at The Linden Apartments at Eventide in Moorhead under the care of Sanford Hospice. Joan was born in Fertile, MN, the daughter of Lloyd and Beda (Tengblad) Knutson. Following high school, she continued her education at Concordia College in Moorhead, graduating in 1954. Joan married Lyle Rich in 1954 and together they made their home in St. Paul, MN.

Joan was a kind and faithful woman. She loved God, family, bird watching, walking and reading. Joan was known for her warm hospitality and unconditional acceptance of others.

Joan is survived by her husband, Lyle; children, Nathan Rich, Naomi (Mark) Hall, Nancy (Rick) Biedermann, Renee (George) Kalpakidis; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, James Knutson.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Evan Hall.

The family would like to express their gratefulness to the Linden Tree Eventide staff and Sanford hospice for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation, 210 7th St. S., Moorhead, MN 56560.

A private memorial service will be held at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. The family welcomes friends to join via livestream at on Thursday, March 4, at 1:00 p.m., on this webpage.
