JoAnne C. Lund, 86, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND. JoAnne was born November 30, 1939, in Breckenridge, MN, to Allen and Rose (Durner) Murphy. She grew up in Campbell, MN, and graduated from Campbell High School. Following high school, JoAnne continued her education at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. In 1960, she married Duane Lund. Together they made their home in Moorhead and started a family.

Over the years, JoAnne enjoyed working at Probstfield Elementary, camping, and traveling. She and Duane looked forward to their yearly get away to Hawaii, their frequent cruises, and seeing many parts of the world. Most of all, Joanne loved her time with family, attending all the grandkids’ activities and getting together whenever they were able. JoAnne was known for having pictures of family throughout her home, and was always eager to talk about the accomplishments of her grandkids.

JoAnne was known for her unconditional love, fierce loyalty, and selflessness to all who had the joy of knowing her. Through her kindness and compassion, JoAnne was a staple in the lives of her children, grandchildren, friends, and anyone who needed a helping hand. The most important thing to JoAnne was that everyone who she cared for was happy, healthy, and that they felt loved and supported. JoAnne will be dearly missed.

JoAnne is survived by her husband, Duane; daughters, Lori (Mark) Heisler, Cathy (Mark) Lund-Ziebarth; grandchildren, Matthew (Alicia Peel) Ziebarth, Michelle (Isaac Fondrick) Ziebarth, Mitchell (Jana) Ziebarth, Ryan (Mollie) Heisler, Christa (Dylan Fox) Heisler; three great-grandchildren, Paisley, Charlie and Enzo; sister-in-law, Donna Murphy; brothers-in-law, Ed Wilson, Darrel (Lois) Lund; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Rose (Durner) Murphy, sister Patricia (Cal) Headley, brother James Murphy; sister-in-law, Marlys Wilson; and brother-in-law, Kevin Lund.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sanford Hospice for their wonderful care of JoAnne. Memorials preferred to Sanford Hospice House or a charity of donor's choice.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by the memorial service at 11:00 AM, in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
