John A. ’Manny’ Mccann

John A. "Manny" McCann, 89, 413 Caddy Avenue, Moorhead, MN, died on May 11, 2004, in Rosewood on Broadway nursing home. John August McCann, known to friends and family as Manny, was born on May 16, 1915, in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada to Pearl and John McCann. He moved to Moorhead in 1920, and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1933. He farmed with his brother, James, until his retirement in 1975. He married Wilmuth Smith, from Greenville, MS, on July 27, 1978. They were married for 22 years until her death on August 6, 2000. John was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moorhead since 1923 and a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilmuth; brother, James; and sister, Maybelle. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Mary Dosland and Evelyn McCann; nephew, Lynn McKinnie; and nieces, Carol Buck and Susan Butler.
