John Alan Feragen, 76, of Fargo, ND, passed away March 30, 2026 at his home.
John was born September 10, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN to J. Orville and Elizabeth (Evenson) Feragen. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1967 and attended Northland Community College and Bemidji State University.
On September 19, 1970 he married VyAnn Meltz in Thief River Falls. They later divorced.
John worked for Lakehead Pipeline for many years and then began working as an over the road truck driver. He received many Million Mile Accident Free Awards.
John had a strong faith, and his church was an important part of his life. He also enjoyed the fellowship he had through his volunteer work. Time spent with family gave John many wonderful memories.
John was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 10 years.
John is survived by his son, Chad (Tami O'Daffer) Grant; grandchildren Connor Grant, Jadyn Grant, Dominick O'Daffer, and Zamira Grant; his sister, Joyce (Tom) Dickman; nephews Eric (Colleen) Dickman, Andrew (Jessica Carlson) Dickman; great nieces and nephews, Emily, Matthew, Charlie and Beau Dickman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The family would like to thank New Life Center, Lighthouse Church, Sanford Medical Center and Roger Maris Cancer Center for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Pastor Dale Wolf and Hannah Ziemer.
A memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Church in Fargo, ND on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be distributed to organizations close to John's heart.
