John L. ’Buddy’ Olson

John Leroy "Buddy" Olson, 87, of Lake Park, Minnesota, died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at Sunnyside Nursing Home, rural Lake Park, Minnesota.John Leroy "Buddy" Olson was born June 16, 1917 in Lake Park, Minnesota, to John and Emma Lindstrom Olson. He graduated from Lake Park High School, and farmed south of Lake Park with his father for several years. He later was employed by American Crystal Sugar Company as a boiler house foreman. He also worked in Drayton, North Dakota for eight years while a new plant was being set up. John was married to Harriet Norman on June 16, 1943. He lived in or near Lake Park his entire life. John was a life long member of Eksjo Lutheran Church, and had served on the church council.He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Magnus and Christine Lindstrom; his grandparents, Nels and Christine Olson; his parents, John and Emma Olson, and baby brother, Vernon.He is survived by his wife, Harriet Olson, Lake Park, MN; one son, Richard Paul Janet Olson, Lake Park, MN; one daughter, Julie Fosse, West Fargo, ND; one sister, Agnes Schulstad, St. Cloud, MN; one brother, Paul Lyla Olson, Lake Park, MN; and seven grandchildren, Amanda, Carrie, Emma & Joseph Olson, and Melissa, Stacey & Kellynn Fosse.
