Joseph M.
Prosby III
Nov 8, 1958 — Aug 29, 2026
Joseph M. Prosby III, of Felton, MN, passed away on August 29, 2026, in Felton at the age of 67. He was born on November 8, 1958, in Fargo, ND, to Joseph Jr. and Leona (Sauvageau) Prosby. Joe grew up on the family farm in Felton, MN, and graduated from Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (DGF) High School in 1977. He later joined the ND Air National Guard and was a member of the Happy Hooligans. Joe continued to farm during his service and remained on the farm until his passing.
In 1995, Joe married Jenny, and the adventure began. Joe was one of a kind—a little quirky, endlessly curious, and so much fun to be around. He had a unique way of looking at the world and was never afraid to wonder about the things that most people simply took for granted. He was fascinated by the great mysteries of the universe, and Bigfoot, UFOs, extraterrestrial life, and the possibility of life on Mars were just a few of the subjects that could capture his imagination. Joe could turn an ordinary conversation into a spirited discussion about what might be out there, what might be possible, and what mysteries the universe had yet to reveal. His curiosity was infectious, and you never quite knew where a conversation with Joe might end up.
That same curiosity and ingenuity showed itself in everything he did. Joe was a genius with motors and could get just about anything running. He seemed to have a sixth sense for machinery and could often diagnose a problem simply by listening to the sound an engine was making. He loved spending time in his shop, where there was almost always a project underway. He could take a piece of metal or wood and turn it into something useful, interesting, or sometimes simply something he had decided he wanted to make. He wasn't one to sit still, and it wasn't unusual for him to have several projects going at once. There was always something to fix, something to build, something to figure out, or some new idea taking shape. That inventive spirit, along with his humor and wonderfully unconventional way of thinking, made Joe uniquely Joe—and made life with him an adventure.
Joseph will be remembered with deep love by his wife, Jenny, and by his children: Hannah and Eric Tuenge of Harvey, North Dakota; Rachel and Rene Gonzales of Moorhead, Minnesota; and Joseph I. Prosby of Felton, Minnesota. He also leaves behind a growing circle of grandchildren—Eva, Miguel, Emmitt, Jaxon, Noah, Sofia, and Abigail—with one more on the way, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is also survived by his siblings, who remained an important part of his life: Shirlee and Pat Eidenschink, Colleen and Tim Gemar, Kathleen and Tony Sciacca, and Michael and Sharon Prosby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Leona.
