Kenneth K Nicholson of Dilworth, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, following a brief illness.

Kenny was born February 13, 1943 in Fargo. He grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High. After two years of college while considering a career as an art teacher, he decided instead to apply his artistic skills to his passion for cars, doing custom painting and pinstriping at Clarence’s Body Shop.

Along the way, Kenny joined the Army National Guard, serving for six years and attaining the rank of E-5.

In 1965 Kenny married Glennda Olson. Together they raised daughters Stacy and Lisa and started their own business from scratch – Supreme Auto Body.

Kenny and Glennda sold the business and retired after 26 years. After retirement Kenny was prevailed upon to do work as an automotive insurance adjuster. He was also sought out for pinstriping on both new and vintage vehicles. He continued to employ his skills in the automotive arts by restoring old gas pumps, pedal cars, and other collectibles. After being chairman of the annual International Car Show Association’s (ISCA) World of Wheels car show in Fargo starting in the 1970s, he was recruited by them to be a judging supervisor, traveling with Glennda, all over the country for car shows. Over the years Kenny was a member of car clubs, including the Swanks, Road Knights, and Valley Vintage. Kenny also liked to work with wood, fashioning many pieces of furniture.

In addition to all things car related, Kenny enjoyed rummage sales, hunting, and fishing, the latter at the family’s cabin on Lake Franklin, playing cards, and family potlucks. He especially enjoyed family vacations and time with his grandchildren, Julian and Blake, in Florida where Kenny and Glennda had a winter home.

Kenny is survived by wife Glennda, daughter Stacy (Skip), daughter Lisa (Bradley), and grandchildren Julian and Blake. He is also survived by sister-in-law Olive Lien, brother-in-law Allan Zeigler, many nieces and nephews, and long time friends too numerous to mention.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Nicholson and Helena Nicholson (Breems), his brother, Leon, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 10:00 am, at Wright Funeral home in Moorhead. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
