Kirk L.
Arndt
February 17, 1951 – March 26, 2026
Fargo National Cemetery
Starts at 2:00 pm (Central time)
Kirk L. Arndt, the sixth of seven children, was born to Goldie (Mickelsen) and Walter Arndt on February 17, 1951, in Browns Valley, MN.
The family moved several times during Kirk’s childhood before making their home in Fargo, ND where Kirk attended high school and graduated from Fargo South in 1969.
In 1970 he joined the US Air Force and served until 1974 when he was honorably discharged. On May 22, 1982, Kirk married Leslie Morris in Fargo. He worked at Hornbacher’s and Red Owl before spending his career with Burlington Northern Railroad.
Kirk enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening, taking pride especially in his delicious tomatoes. He was also very proud of the deck he, his father, and brother Wally built on the home he shared with Leslie.
After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, Kirk passed at the VA Hospital in Fargo on March 26, 2026.
He will be terribly missed by his loving wife and best friend, Leslie; sisters, Corene Winkler, Yvonne (Jerry) Voegele; brother, Ervin (Vicki) Arndt; brothers-in-law, Charles (Sue) Morris, and Larry (Kathy) Morris; and sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ron) Hoeck. Kirk especially adored all his special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-niece and nephew.
He joined his parents; brothers, Dennis and Wally; sister, Myrna; and brother-in-law, David Holden.
