LaVonne Eleanor Hanson passed away peacefully at the Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, North Dakota, on February 5th, 2026.

LaVonne was born on July 21, 1947, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Lester and Eleanor Hanson. She grew up in Audubon, Minnesota, where she graduated from Audubon High School in 1965 and spent the majority of her life.

She made her career at Rural MN Cep, where she worked as an Operations Service Tech for 39 years, and was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

LaVonne found joy in bowling, quilting, gardening, and golfing. She loved playing bingo and cards with family and friends and had a deep passion for sports of every kind. She could often be found volunteering through her church or serving at the VFW, and she especially cherished getting together with “the girls” for dinner or coffee.

She is survived by her children, Christie (Jeff) Hukriede and Chad Hanson; her brother, Charles Hanson; her aunt Arlene Restad, her grandchildren, Kayla (Josh) Hukriede, Derek (Patsy) Tollefson, Steven (Shaelyn) Hukriede, Breanne (Dakota) Flippen, Tyler (Christina) Hanson, and Cole (Rachel) Hanson; and her great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Keanna, Jayce, Lilly, Drake, Carson, Bennett, Oakleigh, Maverick, Sophia, and Theodore. She is also survived by extended family and friends who will forever cherish her sweet and sassy attitude. She was loving, outspoken, and proudly feisty – never afraid to tell it like it is.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Eleanor Hanson, and other close relatives.

LaVonne will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and the world will undoubtedly be a quieter place without her.

Services for LaVonne will be held at the First Lutheran Church of Audubon, MN on Saturday March 7th, 2026 @ 11:00am.

Lunch will be served following the service.
