Leona M. Frisk

Leona M. Frisk, 76, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Leona Marion Anderson was born November 13, 1927 at Winnipeg Junction, Minnesota, near Hawley, Minnesota, to Andrew and Hannah Estrin Anderson. When she was three years old, her family moved to Hawley where she attended school, graduating in the spring of 1945. She was employed by Silver Lake Oil Company and later, by the State Bank of Hawley. On September 20, 1947, she married Maynard Frisk at the Hawley Alliance Church. They owned and operated Ulven Gravel Company for 43 years and raised one son, Mark.Leona was a gifted musician and served as pianist/organist of Hawley Alliance Church for more than sixty years. She was a warm and caring person who will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.She is survived by her husband, Maynard, Hawley, MN; one son, Mark Brenda Frisk, Hawley, MN; and three grandchildren, Mari, Sarah and Paul Frisk.
