Lola M. Matson

Our beloved mother, Lola Mae Matson died peacefully on March 16, 2023, at Eventide on 8^th, Moorhead, MN.

Lola was born on Feb 8, 1929, to David and Ida Carlson, Clarissa, MN. She grew up in rural Clarissa, graduated from Clarissa High School and later attended Bemidji State University before settling into the Fargo/Moorhead area where she spent the remainder of her life.

Lola married Don Pearson in 1947, and they had 3 children together. They later divorced. She married Myron Matson in 1956 and had one child with him. Myron passed away in 1998.

Lola worked at a variety of jobs through the years, retiring from St Luke’s Hospital in 2003. She was an avid bowler until her late 80’s, and also enjoyed playing cards and sewing calendars and embroidered dish towels for her family and friends.

She is survived by children, Don (Faye) Matson, Darlene (Jim) Reavis, and Russ Matson; grandchildren Matthew (Sarah) Matson, Holly (Sean) Koehane, Cherie (Kent) Gronvold, and Melissa, Kira and Chelsie Matson, as well as 11 great-grandchildren, Alex, Ella, Jada, Conall, Gareth, Savanna, Michael, Tristan, Trinity, Leah, and Mason, and 3 great-great grandchildren, Tucker, Aubree and Aria,

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Myron, son David Matson, sisters Gloria Hecker and Dorothy Belsly, and grandsons, Michael Matson, and Cassidy Matson.      

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
