Lonnie Richard Saice

Lonnie Richard Saice, 59, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in his home in Hawley.

Lonnie was born on August 14, 1964, in Moorhead, MN, to Bernard and Donna (Rott) Saice. He grew up in Dilworth where he attended and graduated from Dilworth High School. He worked in the Fargo/Moorhead area at various places, most notably with Federal Beef, True North Steel for 20 years, and most recently with McNeilus Steel for 6 years. During that time, he met Kimberly Lanus, and they were united in marriage on October 21, 2000, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls, MN.

Lonnie enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and woodworking. He loved dogs, enjoyed collecting eagles, whether it had to do with the bird or the band, and collected model cars. He had a passion for food and was known to put hot sauce on pretty much everything. Lonnie was a dedicated and hard worker. He always showed up early and left late, putting everything into his work. Mostly, he loved visiting and spending time with his family and friends and will be sorely missed by all.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Kimberly Saice; mother, Donna; sisters, Debra (Brian) Theis and Della Dahl; nieces and nephews, Crystal (Larry) Plath, Tony (Bobbie Jo) Markey, and Jason Dahl; his special fur kids, Suki, Tika, and Bentley; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., followed by the Wake service and a Rosary at 5:00 P.M, Sunday, August 27, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, August 28, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, MN, following the service at the church.
