Lorraine Pletcher, 93, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Eventide in Moorhead.

Lorraine Wagner was born on August 31, 1932, to Richard and Minnie Wagner. She was raised in Moorhead, where she attended school and spent her childhood years.

Lorraine met the love of her life, Freeland Pletcher, at a barn dance. The two were united in marriage on June 4, 1950, in Barnesville, MN. Together they shared 71 wonderful years of marriage and were rarely apart, enjoying nearly every aspect of life side by side. Their marriage was blessed with four children, and as a family they enjoyed many camping trips, vacations, and cherished adventures together.

Lorraine took great pride in her roles as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a talented seamstress who lovingly sewed most of her daughters’ clothing and even crafted suits for Freeland. She and Freeland also shared a love of square dancing and became active members of a local square dance club. Later, Lorraine worked as the bookkeeper for Dakota Sales Agency, a business she and Freeland helped build and grow.

In retirement, Lorraine and Freeland devoted themselves to their grandchildren. She continued to express her creativity through sewing, making clothing and dolls for the grandchildren, and she delighted in spending countless hours playing with them. Family gatherings, school programs, and special events were always a priority. Lorraine and Freeland also enjoyed working for Corwin, delivering vehicles throughout the country.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Kim (Marvin) Kratzke and Ruth (Jamison) Rice; daughter-in-law, Annette Pletcher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freeland; her son, Daniel Pletcher; her daughter, Barbara Bjornstad; great-grandson, Matthew Kratzke; her parents, Richard and Minnie Wagner; and her siblings, Floyd, Florabelle, Delores, Stan, and Primrose.

Lorraine will be remembered for her devotion to family, her creativity and generosity, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed be the memorial service at 11:00 AM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Rosemound Cemetery, Barnesville, MN.
