Mae C. Shields

Mae C. Shields, 95, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Lilac Homes in Moorhead. Mae was born January 6, 1928, in Wilkin County, MN, to Daniel and Lena (Olson) Danielson. She grew up on the family farm near Comstock, MN, and attended rural country school in her early years. Mae graduated from Comstock High School and continued her education at Business College in Fargo. On September 18, 1950, Mae married Donald Shields. Together they made their home in Moorhead. Over the years, Mae enjoyed working at Concordia College in dining service and taking care of others. She loved spending time outdoors, caring for her flower gardens and spending time with her family. Mae will be dearly missed.

Mae is survived by her daughters, Robbie (Gary) Zent of Alexandria, MN, Maris (Pat) O’Connell of Moorhead, MN; daughter-in-law, Beverly Shields of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Chris (Terri) Zent, Sara (Mike) Paulson, Charlotte Shields, Sam Shields, Caitlin (Andrew) Ross; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Fran Fetters; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and son, Galen; and eight brothers and sisters.
