Obituary

Marjorie Annette Morris (Coalwell), 88, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2025, surrounded by her family, at Heather's House - HIA Hospice, Fargo, ND. Marge was born on December 25, 1937, in Ulen, MN., daughter of Myron and Agnes (Lofgren) Coalwell. Marge grew up in Ulen, Minnesota. She attended Ulen school through the eighth grade then went to Dilworth school, graduating in 1956.

On September 21, 1956, she married Larry Morris of Wheatland, North Dakota, at Dilworth Lutheran Church. After a few moves, they made their home in Moorhead, Minnesota. They had five children.

Throughout the years, Marge worked as a waitress, office worker and had various positions at local banks. She ended her work career at Gate City Bank in Fargo.

Marge was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, always willing to help in any way she could. She enjoyed being at the lake and spending time with her family. Marge was always very generous, selfless and endlessly devoted to her family. Her unconditional love and welcoming approach allowed others to be themselves, making them feel included and valued. Marge regularly spent time going to sporting events to support and cheer for her children and grandchildren. She was happiest when she was involved in their lives, supporting them and feeding them. She was also a loyal fan of the Minnesota Vikings and enjoyed watching them play on Sunday afternoons then discussing in detail the plays of the game. Many people enjoyed Marge's quick wit and disarming sense of humor. She loved to joke with others and was able to laugh at herself at the same time. Marge thoroughly enjoyed a good laugh or giggle.

Her love for the Lord was a part of her daily life and how she lived her life was a testament to her faithfulness. Her favorite book of the Bible was Psalms. Marge's loyalty, unwavering love and support will always be remembered, and she will be greatly missed by many.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Morris; son, Timothy Morris; parents, Myron and Agnes Coalwell; sisters, Jan Oltman, and Anita Olson; brother, Richard Coalwell; and grandson, Blaine Morris.

Marge is survived by her children, Randy (Diane) Morris, Greg (Linda) Morris, Lisa Morris and Julie (Rob) Noyes; brothers, Jerry (Bea), Loren (Connie), Lyle (Barbara), James (Lois), Steve (Karn); sisters, Lauri (Jim) Dawson, Sandy (Ron) Hendricksen, and Della Coalwell; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many friends.

In lieu of flowers please donate to HIA Heather’s Hospice House of Fargo, ND.

Visitation will be Friday, February 13, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed be the Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, in Salem Evangelical Free Church, Moorhead, MN.
