Marlene Ann Mounce

Marlene Ann (Olbert) Mounce, 85, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Serenity Assisted Living, Dilworth, MN.

Marlene was born on February 15, 1937, to Frank and Tillie (Grutt) Olbert in Boyceville, WI. She attended and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1955. She began dating Virgil Mounce in the eight grade and they were united in marriage on May 23, 1956, in Menomonie, WI. She began working in a hospital lab in Eau Claire, WI, while Virgil was serving his country in Germany for two years. After his return, they moved to Anoka, MN, where their two sons, Steven and David were born. They then moved to Dilworth, MN, where they settled and lived for 28 years and where their daughter, Kimberly was born.

In 1987, they moved to Janesville, WI until 2005 when Virgil passed away. Marlene moved back to Hawley, MN, to be closer to her family. In 2020, she moved into Serenity Assisted Living where she lived until her passing.

Marlene enjoyed cardinals and collecting cardinal figurines. She also collected coffee cups and mugs. She also loved her cats, but above all, her family was number one and loved them dearly.

Marlene is survived by her children, David (Corrie) Mounce and Kimberly Mounce; grandchildren, Jacob, Emma, Sam, Melissa, Jessica, Adam, Ashley, Victoria, and Broden; many great and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dianne Mounce; sister, Ramona Morell; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Virgil; son, Steven; grandchild, Hope; and her parents, Frank and Tillie.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Burial will be at Boyceville Cemetery, Boyceville, WI, at 1:00 P.M on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
