Marlene K. Koenig

Marlene Kay Koenig was born November 2, 1945, the daughter of Andrew and Kathryn (Wertz) Olson.  She passed away April 17, 2024, at Eventide in Fargo, ND, at the age of 78.  

 Marlene graduated from Fargo Central High School and worked for the Small Business Association in Fargo for 45 years.  On June 6, 1964, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Koenig and they were blessed with 47 years of life together until Bob passed away December 21, 2011.  Marlene enjoyed participating in ladies circle at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Moorhead, where she and Bob were dedicated members for many years. In 2015, Marlene began attending Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, MN.

She is survived by her son, Shane Koenig; grandchildren, Felicity and Kaeden; sister-in-law, Lynda Olson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald Olson and Myron (Carol) Olson and her beloved husband, Bob
