Mary Beth Geeslin

Mary Beth Geeslin, 73, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Thursday, September 25, in Sanford's Hospice House, Fargo, ND. Mary was born in Hankinson, ND, on December 24, 1951, to Donald and June (Robbins) Herzog. She attended elementary school in Fingal, ND, and graduated from Enderlin High School in 1969. Following high school, Mary continued her education at Valley City State University. On March 14, 1971, she married Douglas Geeslin in Enderlin, ND. Together they moved 7 times in the first 7 years of marriage until settling near Rollag for the next 26 years. Mary was among the first three Teacher Aids hired by Hawley Public Schools in 1981 and retired as the Elementary Office Assistant in 2016.

She is survived by her husband, Doug; children, Michael (Jennifer) Geeslin of Hawley, MN, Gretchen Darras of Newcastle, Australia, Laura (Matthew) Oothoudt of Hawley, MN, and David (Meghan) Geeslin of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Benjamin, Katherine and Amelia Geeslin, Jules Darras, Mason and Jaxon Oothoudt, Monroe, Cecelia, Raphael, Magnus, Perpetua and Sylvie Geeslin; brother, Dave (Barb) Herzog; and sisters, Tana (Steve) Sly and Dianne (Scott) Schmitz.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and June Herzog, and sister, Laurel Davidson.

Our family prefers that you offer a special handwritten memory of Mary instead of flowers and memorial donations.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 30, from 5:00 - 6:30 PM, followed by a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, MN.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, October 1, at 3:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM, in Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, MN.

Interment will follow at Rollag Lutheran Cemetery.
