Maurice A. ’Dan’ Henry

Maurice "Dan" Henry, 89, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Sunday, November 18, 2007, at the Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, Minnesota. Maurice was born November 23, 1917, at Downer, Minnesota, to Bemis S. and Tilla Severson Henry. He grew up and attended rural country school in rural Rollag, Minnesota. Maurice married Charlotte Aakre on September 25, 1942 at Hawley, Minnesota. Following their marriage they owned and operated a dairy farm for forty years. In 1988, they moved in to Hawley, Minnesota, where they have since resided. Maurice enjoyed pitching horseshoes, fishing, bowling, hunting and watching baseball. He was a member of the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion. He also was a director on the Silver Lake Co-op Oil board. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Henry, Hawley, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sylvia Hovelson, and one brother-in-law, John Hovelson. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be given to the Grong Lutheran Church Cemetery Memorial Fund.
