Michael J.
Holman
November 30, 1939 – April 11, 2026
Michael J. Holman, 86, of Fargo, ND passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at HIA Heather's House, Fargo, ND.
Michael Jon “Mike” Holman was born on November 30, 1939, in Fargo, ND to Willard and Anna (Ostenson) Holman. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1957. After high school, Mike went to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX for basic training and spent 6 years in the North Dakota Air Guard.
Mike married Darlene Thorstad in August of 1958, and they had three children, Charlotte, Shari and Jon. They later divorced. On October 23,1965, Mike married Mary Kay Reimer and gained two bonus children, Tim and Tammy. Together, they had one son, Scott.
Mike worked for S.C. Johnson and Son for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2000.
Mike was the kind of man people called when something needed fixing - and he never said no. Whether it was an electrical problem that stumped everyone else, a worn-out appliance worth saving, or a project taking shape in his garage, Mike had both the skill and the patience to see it through. He was a true "Jack of all trades," but more than that, he was someone who genuinely loved to help. His photography captured the world around him with the same careful eye he brought to everything he did - and if you were lucky enough to be at his table, you already know that his lefse was simply the best there ever was.
Mike is survived by his children, Charlotte (Brian) Blumer, Jon (Kathy) Holman, and Scott (Tricia Elven) Holman; stepdaughter, Tammy (Bill) Mercer; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and brother, Bob (Sharon) Holman.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shari Holman; parents; stepson, Tim Otway; and siblings, Jim Holman, Bill Holman, Bonnie Miller, and Harriet Sawyer.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
