Michael W. Wurzbacher

Michael W. Wurzbacher, 68, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo. Mike was born January 27, 1955, to Frank and Marjorie (Gillum) Wurzbacher. He grew up and attended school in Fargo. After graduating from high school, Mike continued his education in CAD Tech. He then began his career with BNSF Railroad. On November 14, 1981, Mike married Elizabeth Greenheck in Moorhead, MN. They spent eight years in Chicago, IL, and moved back to Fargo in 1989. Over the years, he enjoyed his time as a Terminal Trainmaster with BNSF and later worked at Heyer Engineering until retirement. Mike also enjoyed spending time outdoors, landscaping and car detailing. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Jessica Wurzbacher of Fargo, ND; son, Jerimiah (Jacklyn) Wurzbacher of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Ruby and Elizabeth; and sisters, Catherine Stockstad of Moorhead, MN, and Deborah Wurzbacher of Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Charles “Chuck” Wurzbacher.

Visitation will be Friday, November 17, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m, at Nativity Church of Fargo.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
