A life well lived came to a peaceful close, Milton Keith Tweten, 91, of Moorhead, MN went to heaven on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Milton was born in rural Glyndon, MN the second son of Clarence and Mabel Tweten, He moved to Moorhead in the 2nd grade. He attended Moorhead Schools and he met the love of his life, Shirley (Olson) Tweten. Milton and Shirley graduated from Moorhead High School in 1955. Milton and Shirley were joined in marriage on December 19, 1959. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage together until Shirley gained her angel wings in 2010.

Milton and Shirley's first son, Virgil, was stillborn. They raised 4 children, Julie, Kent, Karen, and Jill. Milton was a patient and kind father. He shared his knowledge and his love for fun. He loved ice cream and homemade treats. Milton's four grandchildren, Jacob, Callie, Jayce and James were his true treasures. His face lit up when they entered the room.

Milton had many life adventures. As a young man he helped with his father's milk route, he harvested onions and potatoes and loved to spend time at Big Cormorant Lake. Milton and Shirley were members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Moorhead. He volunteered with the Good Shepherd Helping Hands and Ruby's Pantry. Milton started his electrical career at Edling Electric soon after graduating from high school. He celebrated 50 years of membership in the IBEW of Fargo. Milton was also a business owner. He worked alongside his family in the family pizza business and had a delivery service for many years. He finally retired at the age of 84!

He never missed a school event, band or orchestra concert for Jacob and Callie. He was always in the stands cheering for them during football, volleyball, basketball, baseball or softball season at Moorhead Middle School and Moorhead High School. He was excited when Callie decided to play softball at Concordia College so he could continue to watch her play. It was a proud moment for him to watch her graduate from Concordia as did her grandma, and continued in the field of teaching. He was an overall avid sports fan. He followed the Moorhead High Spuds, the Concordia College Cobbers, The NDSU Bison, the MN Twins and MN Vikings. He also enjoyed working Sudoku puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

Milton is survived by his children, Julie Ahlgren, Kent Tweten, Karen Tweten and Jill (Bryan) Walker and his grandchildren, Jacob Ahlgren, Callie Ahlgren, Jayce Walker, and James Walker; his sister, Darlene Lenz; his brother, Curtis (Irene) Tweten; his brothers-in-law, Ben (DeeDee) Olson and Curtis Nelson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mabel Tweten; his loving wife, Shirley (Olson) Tweten; his infant son, Virgil; his son-in-law, Daniel Ahlgren; his brother, Allen Tweten; brother-in-law, Clifford Lenz; his in-laws, Albert and Myrtle Olson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Joyce Nesting, James and Dorothy Olson, and Marlene Nelson.

Blessed be Milton’s memory.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial service will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior to the service in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will follow at the columbarium at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
