Myrtle Mertie Nord

Myrtle “Mertie” Nord, 95, formerly of Wolverton, MN, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, at CHI St. Francis Home, Breckenridge, MN.

Myrtle was born Sept. 4, 1922 in Cosmos, MN, to Art and Elsie Flemming. She graduated from Litchfield, MN High School in 1940. She married Gerald Nord in California on Nov. 25, 1943. Gerald and Myrtle farmed for many years near Wolverton, MN. During this time she was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, including Ladies Aid, quilters group, the church circle and taught Sunday School for 20 years. Myrtle also belonged to the Wolverton Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Ken Lindsey, Wahpeton, ND; son, DelMar Michele Nord, Eagan, MN and granddaughter, Meghan Nord, Eagan, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Gerald, infant son Thomas and grandson Eric Nord.

Visitation will be Friday, September 15, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., in Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton, MN.

Interment will be at Wolverton Cemetery.
