Norma Delores Helm

Norma Delores (Haugtvedt) Helm, 92, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, in Eventide on 8^th, Moorhead, MN.

Norma was born on November 15, 1928, to Ingvald and Bernice (Julsrud) Haugtvedt, in Prairie View Township, Wilkin County, MN. She grew up on a farm near Lawndale where she attended grade school. She later attended and graduated from Barnesville High School. After graduating from Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND, she began working as a teller/proofer at a local bank in the Fargo/Moorhead area. While in college, she met Harold Helm and they were later united in marriage on July 16, 1948, in Fargo. They lived in Moorhead for most of their lives.

Norma and Harold loved outdoor activities, especially going for walks with their dog, Norski, or biking, and camping with her family and friends. She was a great cook and was especially known for her buns and oatmeal raisin cookies. As a seamstress, she made countless Halloween costumes, Christmas and Easter dresses, and intricate quilts for her daughters and each new addition to the family. She was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND, attended bible studies as well as participated in many prayer groups. She was always generous with her time, space, and money, giving her attention to those who needed it most. Norma was a quiet, humble woman with a great sense of humor who was dedicated to her faith, family, and friends.

Norma is survived by her children, Phyllis “Ann” Bergeson, Pam White, and Paulette (Paul) Evenson; grandchildren, Tricia (Jeff) Martin, Jenny (Jake Gunderson) Bergeson, Alycia (Levi) Eggermont, Zach (Brooke) White, Lizzie White, Kelsey White, and BreAnn (Beau) Haugrud; great-grandchildren, Josh and Addie Martin, Harry and Lenny Haugrud, and expected baby boy, White; sisters, Florence Larson and Goldie (Harley) Hansen; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold; parents; son-in-law, Paul White; and siblings, Herman Haugtvedt, Inez Braton, Vernie Haugtvedt, Violet Wolf, and Harland Haugtvedt.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. The graveside service will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
