Omar S. Griffin

Omar Griffin, 87, of Glyndon, MN, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Omar was born to Oliver and Martha Hurner Griffin on July 27, 1917 in Moland Township. He grew up and attended school in Averill, MN. He served our country for eight years in the US Navy during World War II. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He worked for Wallworks until his retirement in 1978. Omar had a love for life and enjoyed spending time on his hobby farm just outside of Glyndon.He is survived by one son, Omar Jr., Glyndon, MN; one daughter, Cheryl Lyle Broten, Bloomington, MN, two brothers; Verl Joyce and Glenn Kay Griffin; two sisters, JoAnn Lamb and Lola Rehder two granddaughters; Terry and Stephanie Broten, three great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
