Pamela Hirchert

The Lord welcomed Pamela Jean Hirchert home on April 25, 2021.  Surrounded by her family, Pam passed away peacefully at home after courageously battling a long illness.

She was born January 4, 1974 with her twin sister, Patricia, to Robert and Patricia Reichel in Fargo, ND at St. Luke’s hospital.  She graduated from D-G-F in 1992.

Pam is the mother of five children: Jake, Jim, Megan and Morgan, and an infant daughter, Casey, lost at birth.

Pam was a lifelong resident of the Dilworth area.  The career she enjoyed the most was civilian work for the Navy reserve center in Fargo where she worked for 10 years and met so many lifelong friends.

To know Pam is to know love and Pam loved.  Pam’s faith was very important to her.  She was a lifelong member of St. Elizbeth Catholic Church.  She enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafting, motorcycle rides, camping, Yahtzee, bargain shopping and being with friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and all the special moments they shared.  The most special time of year for Pam was Christmas, when she would craft some Christmas décor and gifts.  Pam cherished her grandchildren, and when she wasn’t enjoying her crafts she was busy spoiling her grandchildren.

Pam is survived by her children, Jake (Ashley) Hirchert, James Hirchert, Megan (Austin) Veralrud and Morgan Hirchert; grandchildren, Gage and Westen Hirchert, Layne, Luke, Lydia and Layton Veralrud; parents, Robert and Patricia Reichel; siblings, Bob (Diane) Reichel, Kathy Fuder, Lori Hansen, Patricia Reichel-Sandland (Jeffrey Hanson), Joe Reichel, and Jon Reichel (April Bunnis), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Casey, and great-niece Erica Dodge.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley and all the very special home health care workers that cared for Pam over the years.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.  The funeral will be Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Dilworth.  Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in north Fargo.
