Patricia “Pat” Messerschmidt

Patricia “Pat” Messerschmidt, age 72, of Pelican Rapids, MN, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 peacefully at her home.

Patricia See was born on March 21, 1949 in Fargo, ND to Duane and Korwyn See. Pat grew up in Dilworth, MN and graduated from Dilworth High School. She always wanted to be a teacher, so she furthered her education at Moorhead State College. Pat taught English, speech, and special education at Campbell-Tintah Schools where she was also the yearbook advisor, prom advisor, and ran two libraries. She married the love of her life, Dwayne Messerschmidt, on February 2, 1973. Dwayne had been her friend since they met in the 1^st grade. They made their home in Tintah, MN and later in Campbell, MN where they both taught at the school. After retiring, they made their home on Lake Lizzie.

Pat is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dwayne; her beloved dog, Izzy; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Korwyn; and her brother, John.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., with a visitation starting two hours before, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
