Patrick Charles "Pat" Driscoll, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1949, to Florine (Athmann) and Charles Driscoll Jr.

He graduated from Moorhead Senior High School in 1967, where he excelled in both basketball and tennis. As a standout member of the Spuds basketball team, Pat played an instrumental role in leading his team to the Minnesota State Basketball Tournament, a highlight of his high school athletic career.

Following high school, Pat attended North Dakota State University, where he continued his basketball career for four years. His outstanding talent, dedication, and contributions to the Bison basketball program earned him induction into the North Dakota State University Athletic Hall of Fame—an honor that reflected both his athletic achievements and lasting impact on the program.

After college, Pat worked alongside his father on the family farm before beginning a career with Interstate Battery. Later, he joined his brother, Tom, in the family painting business, where he enjoyed working alongside family and built many lasting friendships through the years. Pat married Joan Lien in Moorhead. They later divorced.

Family was the center of Pat's life. He was a proud and devoted uncle and godfather who treasured his nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on and took great pride in following their accomplishments, especially on the playing field. His encouragement, generosity, and unwavering support will always be remembered.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Pat loved following all sports, with a special passion for the local teams, including the Dragons, Bison, Cobbers, and the Spuds. Whether attending games in person or faithfully keeping up with every score, he remained one of their most loyal fans.

Pat will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and the genuine interest he took in the lives of those he loved. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to family and friends.

Pat is survived by his brothers, Tom (Jan), Mike (Tari), and Jim (Connie); his sisters, Kathy (Bobo) Abraham and Sara (Roland) Sanders; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private celebration of Pat's life will be held with immediate family.
