Paul M. Aarsvold

On September 23, 2022, under the wonderful care of Ethos Hospice and Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN, Paul M. Aarsvold passed away with his loving wife by his side.

Paul M. Aarsvold was born May 15, 1928, to Adolf “Ted” and Mabel (Markegaard) Aarsvold in Kasson, MN. In 1937 the family moved to Grand Marais where they had a dairy farm for three years, and then returned to southern Minnesota. He graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1946.

Paul enlisted in the Navy in 1949 and proudly served his country in the Korean war aboard a destroyer for three and a half years. He saw many parts of the world and was honorably discharged in 1952.

On October 9, 1954, he was united in marriage to Leanna Hoffman in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ormsby, MN. They lived in southern MN for a short time before moving to Minneapolis in 1955. He began 31 years of accident-free driving for Greyhound Lines, where he received many awards. In 1971 the family moved to Lake Park. He finished his employment with Greyhound in Fargo, retiring in 1986.

Paul enjoyed his retirement years gardening, yardwork, family, many friends, and church.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, children, Julie (Wes) Moechnig, Dr. Ramona Aarsvold, Curtis, Mitchell (Julie), and Wesley; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and lifelong friend, Leon Andrist.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Audubon, MN. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
