Pauline Hatlestad

Pauline Hatlestad, 78, of West Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Manor Care Health Services, Fargo, ND.

Pauline Ellen Dean was born on August 19, 1935 at Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Elmer and Mary Dean. She grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. Pauline married the love of her life, Walter Conrad Hatlestad, on November 28, 1953. They moved to Gackle, North Dakota in 1955, where Walt began his teaching career and Pauline was a home maker. They also lived in Jamestown and Valley City and moved to Fargo, ND in 1964. Pauline was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.

Pauline leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her two daughters, Pam Hatlestad Cottage Grove, MN and Joan Dan Degerness West Fargo, ND; son Steven Hatlestad St. Paul, MN; daughter-in-law, Keri Hatlestad Scottsdale, AZ; five precious grandchildren, Griffin and Morgan Hatlestad and Jordan, Walker and Parker Degerness; sister, Elizabeth Bonine and brother, James Dean Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hatlestad Devils Lake, ND; her nieces and nephews and many friends.

Pauline joins in eternity her beloved husband, Walter Hatlestad; her devoted son, Timothy Hatlestad; parents, Elmer and Mary Dean; siblings, Robert, Harold, Donald and Adelma and brother-in-law, James Hatlestad.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Snow and the Roger Maris Cancer Center for their caring and compassion; Members of the White Team of Hospice of the Red River Valley for their patience and support and Pastor Olmstead and the Family of Hope Lutheran for their prayers and concern.

The service of celebration of Pauline’s life will be on Tuesday, August 12 at 2:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church, 2900 N. Broadway in Fargo. Interment will be in Warwick, ND at a later date.
