Pearl Holsen Chilberg, 94, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, April 24, 2015, in Eventide Senior Living, Moorhead, MN.
Pearl Irene Holsen was born on March 15, 1921, in Moorhead, MN, to Louis and Anna Sorum Holsen. Pearl was baptized, confirmed and married in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. She attended Park School and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1939. During the war, Pearl worked at the rural Cass County draft board. When her mother died, she kept house for her father and helped him in his business. Pearl married Axel Chilberg in 1970. They resided in White Bear Lake, MN. After Axel’s retirement, they first moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, and eventually made their home in Moorhead, MN. They enjoyed their summers at Cotton Lake for many years. Pearl was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and loved all things Norwegian. She especially enjoyed traveling back to Norway.
Pearl is survived by her step-son, David Chilberg, Ballwin, MO; step-granddaughter, Lisa Rasmussen; and step-great-grandchild, Rook Rasmussen; and many cousins in Moorhead.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and step-daughter, Lorrie Ann Olsen.
Funeral: Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
