Peter R. Scheel, age 70, passed away on March 29, 2026. He was born November 28, 1955, in Fargo, ND, to Roy and Marie (Kurschinski) Scheel.

Pete graduated from Fargo North High School where lifelong friends were made, especially on the basketball court. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout was a well-earned accomplishment.

Pete went on to graduate from the University of North Dakota, and later attended North Dakota State University. He owned and operated Iron Horse Decals in Fargo. Pete took great pride in his print shop and enjoyed the relationships he built and the customers he served.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was an avid gardener with a green thumb and bumper crops.

Pete had deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication of family forefathers. It was a source of great pride when the Kurschinski homestead received an official North Dakota Centennial Farm designation.

Pete was memorable. His tall stature made him hard to overlook. His care for others, quick wit and ready sense of humor made him difficult to forget. He will be dearly missed and long remembered.

Pete is survived by his sisters, Sally (Dick) Jenkins, Sandra Hannahs, and Janet (Jeff) Wright-Mortenson; nieces and nephews, Krista Black, Julie Mohl, Alyssa Shirek, Margaret Hannahs, Lillian Hannahs, Emily Wright and great-nieces and nephews, Leo Mohl, Celia Mohl, Parker Shirek, Becca Shirek, Ryder Wright and Raya Wright.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marie; brother-in-law, Chip Wright; and nephews Eric Wright and Robert Jenkins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 1:00 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
