Richard M. Carlson

Richard Matthew Carlson, 54, died peacefully on March 21, 2018 with his family at his bedside.

Richard was born on October 22, 1963 in Fargo, ND to Marvyl and Emil Carlson. With his passing goes a kind, sweet, and gregarious soul who charmed his family, friends and neighbors where he grew up, his schoolmates and teachers in the Moorhead school system, his caregivers, and all of the people he worked with at his many jobs over the years. He was a star in his youth in the Minnesota Special Olympics, winning medals as a runner and soft ball thrower. He was huge fan of professional wrestling and Hulk Hogan was his favorite.

Richard is survived by his sister Jana Schmid and his brothers John (Carol) Carlson and Bob (Kristin Nelson) Carlson and nieces Megan Schmid and Britta Carlson and nephews Jacob Schmid and Joren Carlson, who will all miss him greatly

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one-hour prior in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Beltrami, MN.
