Arlene was born on June 14th, 1946, in Lovilia, Iowa, the second of five children to Orval and Helen (Beary) Plum. She was educated in Lovilia and Albia, IA, and graduated with the Class of 1964 from Albia High School.
After graduation, she went to Des Moines, IA to work, enjoying her employment at LOOK Magazine, Georgia Pacific, and Lampert’s. She made many friends and was a loyal and dedicated employee at all three companies.
On December 13, 1975, she married Delano Wang and moved to Minnesota. She and Delano lived in the communities of Ulen and Glyndon, MN, before finally settling in Moorhead. They spent 39 years together, sharing partnership and love until Delano died on December 30, 2014.
Arlene and Delano were blessed to have two children and Arlene’s six stepchildren, and all of their families were also a blessing and instantly accepted as part of her and Delano’s married life. Over the years, they were one big family and enjoyed getting together, especially for weddings, showers, and at Holiday time.
Trips to Iowa were a must at least once or twice a year to see siblings, cousins, and friends. Family was important to both of them.
Arlene enjoyed stitching, collecting dolls, watching TV, and following the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren!
She is survived by her children, Tara (Austin) DeCock; Peder Wang; Scott (Kelly Hett) Wang, Susan (John) Klevgaard, Steve (Wanda) Wang, Sandy Wyland, Sheila (Dean) Bentley, and Sally (Dan) Christenson; her grandchildren, Sophia, Sawyer, and Victoria (Tori), Mandy, Matthew, Ashley, Amber, Alyssa, Anna, Emma, Oliver, Travis, Drew, Abby, Seth, Eli, Derek, Aaron, Brittany, Paige, Allison, Noah and Ian; her thirty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Podnar and Evie (Richard) Jones; two brothers, Ron (Deb) Plum and Richard (Shirley) Plum; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends! She is preceded in death by her husband, Delano, parents, six sisters-in-laws, and six brothers-in-law and her grandchildren Sam, Jordyn, Reagan and Maddy.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for future designation.
