Robert (Bob) Margheim, age 86, of Moorhead, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. He was one of 10 children.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Margheim; his granddaughter, Meagan (Margheim) Bauer; great granddaughters Aubery & Briley Horning; and his siblings, Leona (Pete) Walters, Ruthie (John) Bopp, George (Phyllis) Margheim, Paul (Ella Mae) Margheim, Ed (Wanita) Margheim, and Dan (Myrna) Margheim.

Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Melody (Burnside) Margheim; his children, Robert "Bob" (Susan) Margheim of Mapleton, North Dakota, Vickie Smith of Severance, Colorado, Terry Margheim of Severance, Colorado, Mike Keeping of Aubrey, Texas, and Brad (Susan) Margheim of Frisco, Texas; his cherished grandchildren, Rob (Megan) Margheim of Fargo, North Dakota, Meagan (Margheim) Bauer of Fargo, North Dakota, Kaila (Kolby) Horning of Fargo, North Dakota, Joey (Karla) Margheim of Greeley, Colorado, Vanessa Lopez of Greeley, Colorado, and Jeri Ann Mese of Greeley, Colorado; and his 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Gloria (Koch), Diana (John) Templefeld, and Gordon (Nancy) Margheim, as well as his former wife, Patricia, the mother of Bob, Vickie, and Terry.

Born on October 29, 1938, in Denver, Colorado, Bob dedicated over 35 years to the sugar industry, a career that brought him from the Rocky Mountains to the Red River Valley. He relocated to Minnesota in 1977, where he established a new chapter in his life. He served with dedication and expertise as Operations Manager at various American Crystal Sugar factories throughout the Red River Valley. His work was a significant part of his life, and he was well-respected by his colleagues.

In his younger years, Bob had a deep connection to the natural beauty of his home state. He enjoyed the tranquility and challenge of stream fishing and camping in the Colorado Rockies, creating lasting memories amidst the majestic landscapes. Later in life, Bob also found enjoyment in the lively atmosphere and his frequent visits to his favorite casinos, always holding out hope for that elusive big win.

While he might have seemed reserved at first, those who knew Bob well experienced his playful and often sarcastic nature, coupled with a quick wit that could bring a smile to anyone's face. He had a unique way of engaging with people, and his humor was a cherished part of his personality. He was a steady and reliable presence in the lives of those he loved.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 10th, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, located in Moorhead.
