Robert D. “Bob” Messerschmidt

Robert D. Messerschmidt, 84, of Glyndon, MN, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in Bethany on 42^nd, Fargo, ND.

Robert D. “Bob” Messerschmidt was born in Moorhead, MN, on February 21, 1937, to Edward and Clara (Brusch) Messerschmidt. He was raised in Glyndon and graduated from Glyndon High School in 1955. He then went to work for Kost Materials as a dispatcher until partnering with them in 1974. He helped run the company for over 15 years and continued to drive truck until just a few years ago. On June 17, 1960, he married Ardyce Osmundson. She passed away in 2013.

Bob enjoyed traveling, going to the dirt track races in Glyndon, West Fargo, and Grand Forks, and watching the DGF football team play under the Friday night lights. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed spending time with family.

Bob is survived by his children, Richard Messerschmidt, and Jodi Timme; grandchildren, Mark (Ariana) Messerschmidt, Christine Hutton, Brady (Katlin) Timme, and Matthew Timme; six great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Tonya) Messerschmidt, and sister, Clarene (Ed) Buttenhoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Sherri; and brothers, Edward, Loren “Mickey”, George, and Roy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 3:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
