Robert M. ’Bob’ Rath

Bob Rath, 65, of Pelican Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully at Innovis Hospital on May 13, 2010, with his family at his side. Bob was born on January 29, 1945, to Milt and Ruby Rath, in Jamestown, ND. They moved to Moorhead, MN when Bob was in 5th grade. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1963. On June 19, 1965, Bob married Janet Bruzelius. Bob served in the army from 1965-1967. He worked for UPS for 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement Bob and January moved to their home on Franklin Lake. There Bob enjoyed fishing and developed his love for golf. During summer months in Minnesota, he was able to enjoy time with his daughters, Jill Brad, Julie Brian and his grandchildren MaKayla, Lance and Alli Kay. Since retirement Bob and January enjoyed winters in Arizona, where he made many good friends and was able to enjoy the warm weather and golf as much as possible. Also, he was able to enjoy time with his son Gary Shanon and grandchildren Brady, Branum, Shauna & Braden. Bob will be remembered for his passion for sports. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and getting together with his friends to reminisce and share stories about hunting, fishing, softball, golf and UPS. He is survived by his wife Janet, Pelican Rapids, MN; one son, Gary Shanon Rath, Peoria, AZ; two daughters, Jill Brad Weiss, Hawley, MN and Julie Brian Rosenfeldt, Dilworth, MN; seven wonderful grandchildren, Brady, Branum, Braden, Shauna, MaKayla, Lance and Alli Kay; and one sister, Mary Lee Anderson, Moorhead, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents.
