Robert Emery Thompson

Robert Emery Thompson, 51, Dilworth, MN, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Robert was born March 14, 1974, in Chicago, IL, to Russell and Barbara (Niedzwiecka) Thompson. The family moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1980 and later to Bagley, MN where they resided until they moved to Moorhead, MN in the early 1990’s. Robert graduated from high school in Moorhead and then worked as an independent contractor for several moving companies in the Fargo-Moorhead area. His job moving furniture took him all over the country and instilled in him a love for travel. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Robert loved spending time with his family, and they will always remember how he loved to joke around with people and the pride he took in his appearance and clothing.

Robert is survived by his children, Heather Badar, Robert Thompson Vetter, Hailey Hagen, Holly Hagen, Thomas Hagen, Hannah Vetter, Tyler Hagen, Heidi Paul, Ryan Paul, and Havanna; his siblings, Ruthie Thompson (Darcy Sherman), Marcie (Jason) Prince and Anna Mae Thompson (Cory Stevens); his significant other, Robin Paul, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Dean Thompson Sr. and Barbara Thompson and his brother, Russell Dean Thompson Jr.

The family will celebrate Robert's life on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Rice Lake Community Center, 26209 Water Tower Loop, Bagley, MN.
