Obituary

Robin Allen Barth, 61, of West Fargo, ND, was reunited with his mother, Mavis; his great‑niece, McKenzee; and his grandparents when he passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2026.

Robin was lovingly raised by David and Mavis Barth and was recently in touch with his biological father, Warren (Mary) Kasten. Growing up, he attended grade school between Mandan, ND, and Rapid River, MI, later graduating from Mandan High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in teaching from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI.

Robin taught for many years in Kalamazoo and Escanaba, MI, before eventually returning closer to family in the Fargo–Moorhead area. In Fargo, he worked at Savers and Fleet Farm while also delivering morning newspapers to area convenience stores.

Robin wasn’t just a son, brother, uncle, and great‑uncle—he was a true kid at heart. His playful character voices, his gentle humor, and the way he connected with family in his own special way will be remembered for years. He was kind, a good listener, and someone who always knew how to lift others’ spirits. Each school year, he made sure his nieces and nephew had their school supplies, and he especially loved Christmas, delighting in spoiling his family.

A devoted Trekkie, Robin’s love for Star Trek was unmistakable—right down to the ringtone on his phone. He was also a huge fan of Harry Potter and Star Wars, finding joy and imagination in the worlds he loved.

Robin was preceded in death by his beloved pets, Snoopy the dog and Nimitz the cat, and he had recently been looking for another cat to welcome into his life.

Those continuing to celebrate his life include his father, David Barth; his brother, Troy (Carmen) and their family—niece Ashlee (Brandon) and children Clara, Daxson, and Elliott McManigle; nephew Jonathen (Shannon) and children Zoey and Tucker Barth; and niece Anna Claire Barth. He is also survived by his sisters, Nicole Barth and Nylene (Bryan) Loepp; his biological father, Warren (Mary) Kasten; uncles Paul (Julie) Barth and Jim (Barb) Barth; aunt Kathy Johnson; and many cousins—too numerous to name—each of whom held a special place in his life.

Robin was preceded in death by his mother, Mavis Barth; great‑niece McKenzee Barth; grandparents Rev. Carl and Mildred Johnson and David and Vivian Barth; uncle Rev. Tom Delk and aunt Eileen Delk; and uncle Lowell Johnson.

Robin will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life, visitation, and spiritual service will be held on September 26, 2026 at 2 - 5 pm at MB Johnson Park in Moorhead, MN. Final resting place is St. Joesph's Cemetery, Moorhead MN.
