Roger Duane Anderson, 81, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in his home in Dilworth, under the care of hospice.
Roger was born on September 15, 1942, to Herman and Orva (Sheer) Anderson in Clarkfield, MN. He grew up in Pelican Rapids, MN, in the resort his parents owned and operated. He attended schools in Pelican Rapids and graduated from Dilworth High School. After high school, he began working for his father at his grocery store for a few years before working at the butcher shop. He then began his forty-five plus year career as a trucker accumulating many miles over the years.
Roger was a big fan of the MN Twins and the Vikings, enjoyed shooting pool, and loved to go hunting and fishing, partaking in many Canada fishing trips. He loved traveling to Jamaica so much he made three trips, enjoying the authentic local pina coladas. It was a big dream of Rogers to fly in a P51 Mustang, a dream which was achieved nearly five years ago which was a story he was excited to share with everyone. He was proud of his 1952 Higgins boat and loved to take it out on Star Lake near Dent, MN, where he loved to spend most of his time surrounded by his family and friends.
Roger is survived by his children, Theresa (Tim Owen) Noble, Mike (Sandy) Anderson, Missy (Russ) Thacher, Brent (Michele) Peterson, Craig Peterson, and daughter-in-law, Brenda Sundby; grandchildren, Danielle (Nick) Baken, Justin (Dana) Noble, Amanda (Russ) Tweeden, Cassie (Bart) Peach, Kelsie (Luke) Olson, Blake Anderson, Brayden Thacher, Logan Thacher, Raelyn Peterson, Ethan Peterson, Hannah Peterson, Cody Peterson, Dillon Peterson, Chad Sundby, Nate Sundby, Erik (Jordan) Sundby, Chris Peterson, Josh Peterson, and Jordan Peterson; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Danny (Marcia) Anderson and Phyllis (Roger) Hanson; and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his life partner, Linda Peterson; parents, Herman and Orva; siblings, Jack, Valgene, Gloria Olson, Lynell McMahan; sons, Jeff Peterson and Kelly Peterson; and grandson, Jacob Peterson.
The family would like to extend a big thank you to Jena and the hospice team for the care of our dad.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
